Fast-Hybrid AF Compatible
Compatible with Fast-Hybrid AF that takes both Contrast AF that is more accurate in AF, and Phase Detection AF, which is speedier in AF, into the autofocus process. In the case of moving subjects or when speedier AF is required, the phase detection AF is useful and the user will not miss the shot.
Stepping Motor (RXD)
Equipped RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive. Stepping Motor is an actuator that can control the motor’s rotation angle accurately without reduction-speed gears and can directly actuate the focus lens, which is good for silent shooting and provides great AF performance for videography
Eye-AF Compatible
Compatible with Eye-AF function on the camera body. In portraiture, the photographer focuses on the human eye. When photographing a person, the autofocus can detect the human eye in high frequency. It realizes accurate AF under narrow depth-of-field circumstances on full-frame cameras.
Direct Manual Focus (DMF)
Compatible with Direct Manual Focus (DMF) that enables the user to adjust the focus manually after using Autofocus. You can switch from AF to MF immediately to make any slight focus adjustment. It is also compatible with Single AF (AF-S) and Continuous AF (AF-C)
Firmware update through camera body
Lens firmware can be updated through the camera body. Whenever Tamron renews the lens firmware, users can update their lens simply by connecting it to their camera body.
